Stoplog
Rebuilding of five Puntledge stop logs (dam gates) to replace the original 1952 gates, incorporating advanced engineering, machining, and custom fabrication. The project involved working with steel, stainless steel, and brass, including the creation of wheels, a suspension system, and seals.
The Puntledge Stop Logs (Spogs) project involved the complete rebuilding of five dam gates, originally built in 1952, that had become unfit for use. Our team tackled the project with a focus on precision engineering and custom machining. The scope included the design and fabrication of new wheels, a suspension system, and the addition of a sealing mechanism to ensure the gates functioned effectively. We worked with three different metals—steel, stainless steel, and brass—to meet the specific requirements of each component. This project showcased our ability to integrate advanced engineering and machining techniques with custom fabrication to deliver durable, high-performance gates.
